9.0 How To Search for a Market

Online Platform Guide - Finding Your Market: UK, European, Asian, US Markets.
Trading Market Search: Forex (Fx), Indices, Equities, Bonds, Commodities.

To search for a market, you can either use the the search facility located within each of the Product tabs or use the Search tab and perform a text search.

 

9.1 Using the Search Tab

 

The text search will perform a search based on the text entered. The text does not have to be exact and you can enter only a few characters of the market's name. This will raise all markets that contain those characters.

This example will illustrate how to search for the UK 100 share Royal Bank of Scotland.

You can search a share using the ticker code, if you know it.

Alternatively, you can search by typing in some or all of it's name in the search box.



You can also refine your search by selecting the relevant market group in the drop down menus.

 

9.2 Using the Search Facility in the Product Tabs

The functionality of the search facility is the same for each of the tabs. The standard set up is as follows:

Drop Down Menu 1.

The drop down menu 1 separates the contents of the tab into their constituent groups. In this case, the separate index groups.

Drop Down Menu 2.

By selecting a constituent group in drop down menu 1, the drop down menu 2 will allow you to further refine your search. Again, you can select the "Search" option which allows you to search only for products located in the drop down menu 1 selection.

There is a "Search" option which can also be found at the end of each of the drop down menus. Selecting "Search" will present you with a text box that allows you to enter all, or some of the text you would like to search for.

Clicking the search button will perform a search based on the text that has been entered.

 

9.3 Search For a Specific Market

 

This example illustrates how to search for the UK equity bet Glaxo Smithkline Rolling.

In the pricing panel, select the "Equities" tab.

In the second drop down menu, select "Search".

Enter the name or part of the markets name.

Click on the search button.

 

9.4 Searching for a Group Market

 

This example shows how to search for all German equities beginning with the letter "S".

In the pricing panel, select the "Equities" tab.

In the "Equities" tab, use the first menu to select "Euro". This will raise all European equity markets.

In the second menu, select "German Equities"

In the third menu, select the menu incorporating "S".

The results of the "S" search are displayed, including those equities beginning with "S".
